Fall 2017 Semester
The fall 2017 semester, my first semester in college. I have never cried and felt so much self doubt, but motivated, extremely motivated at the time! For example right now I just had mental breakdown for realizing that there is only technically two weeks left. I have never been so excited for a semester to end in my entire school career.
What I could say went well this semester, would be the classes I chose for the fall. My professors, instructors, teachers, whatever anybody wants to call them. I can truly say I have learned more than just a few things from three out of four of them, whether it be school related or reality they have helped in so many ways. Things that did not go so well are what I caused for myself. For instance how to study, you go from not studying or barely studying to a slap in the face and a moment to yourself like “Hey! This is not high school, so get a grip and figure it out” That was me, I can not lie I am still learning how to study, getting tips and tricks from as many people as possible. Another problem that is slowly coming along, is time management. This semester I have not been too bad, but I know for a fact I need improving. Through all of that, I could say that where I succeed the most would not be just one class in particular. More so of test taking, I have never been so proud of myself, because test taking is not for me, although I have passed most of my test out of all of my classes, some might not be the best grade but yet its passing and that is a huge accomplishment for me. One thing I can say is that I failed with being afraid to ask questions, I have a professor who is intimidating, however extremely nice. Yet you have me being scary not going to go ask for help and thinking I knew what I was doing that stupidity caused me to get a zero, while drastically changing my grade all because I thought he was going to feel some way towards me.
What I loved the most about the semester, is first, what college did for me. I grew up and i like the person I am becoming. Second, the people I have met. And third, being out of high school with all of those kids, I have been ready to graduate since the fourth grade (if i could enter an emoji here i would). I really only hate one thing about college being that I have to write, type, text, email so much. My eyes hurt and I get headaches more frequently now. Oh my goodness my performance for this semester… it was not too bad but, and it might not seem like it, but I am super hard on myself and I know for fact I can do way better, and next semester will be better! In spring 2018 when my life comes together and I really have a grasp on what I understand and do not comprehend and I can really separate the two and start doing what I know needs to be done and how to fix it, then these next six, seven maybe even eight years in my college career will be a little bit easier than just a “breeze”.
Wow! I seemed like you described you semester like a roller coaster without a seat belt. However, out of everyone's blog it seemed that yours had more of emotional value in your writing then most .
